The University of Kansas School of Medicine exemplifies excellence in health care education on campuses in Kansas City, Salina and Wichita.
Across the state, the KU School of Medicine educates and trains physicians and physician-scientists who are learning to provide the best in patient care and discovering new ways to improve the health not just of Kansans but people all over the world. Beyond medicine, the school shapes the next leaders guiding public health research and administration, the foundation for healthier communities.
Among the many accolades and accomplishments of the KU School of Medicine:
Join us in ensuring that the KU School of Medicine plays a role in propelling health across the spectrum of need — locally, in the state, and around the world — by educating and preparing physicians, researchers and public health specialists to provide the best in care, critical research skills and policy acumen.
The KU School of Medicine has three campuses, in Kansas City, Kansas, Wichita and Salina. Students in the MD program experience the same academic curriculum whether they are in an urban or rural setting, and these educational options provide flexibility to students and help keep health care providers in the state after graduation.
Support these initiatives at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and join us in ensuring that more Kansans survive and thrive now and for generations to come.
Medical students graduate with an average of $180,000 in medical school debt. If we can lessen that burden our graduates can dream big: They can go into primary care, they can help educate the next generation or they can work to find the next cure or cutting-edge treatment for disease. The KU School of Medicine ranks in the top 10 for primary care, but with larger scholarships for more students we can reach even higher. Help us give our graduates the freedom to make a difference in the way they’ve always hoped.
It’s a competitive market for clinicians and researchers. As our reputation grows, so does our opportunity to train and recruit leaders in every specialty. But training and retaining takes more than a stellar reputation, it takes a lot of resources. We can create our own rock stars by providing start-up funds, pilot grants, professorships and more. If we nurture scientific exploration early and often, we create a place everyone wants to spend their careers. This reputation helps us recruit the best in the nation and together we will lead the way in academic medicine.
When the new Wichita Biomedical Campus opens its doors in 2027, future doctors, nurses, physical therapists and even emergency medical technicians will all be housed in a joint facility in downtown Wichita. The University of Kansas and Wichita State University are demonstrating their commitment to educate the leaders of tomorrow and help build healthy and vibrant communities through collaboration.
