The School of Architecture & Design empowers the next generation of design professionals to create with ambition, vision, and purpose. Students are challenged to dream big and taught practical ways to transform inspired ideas into tangible solutions.

After a decade of increasing enrollment and expanded program offerings, the school is working to transform our facilities. Punctuated by an iconic new building that will add much-needed space and connect our two main facilities in the historic heart of campus, this project will remake what is possible for design education at KU. At once providing exciting new ground for multidisciplinary discovery and celebrating the rich history of the architecture and design departments, this project is a generational opportunity to create a new showcase for design innovation on Mount Oread.

For over a century, the University of Kansas has been preparing aspiring architects, designers and creatives for professional life by evolving programs and curricula to meet the challenges of a constantly changing world.
