They entertain, inspire, educate—and perhaps most importantly, improve the quality of our lives by sharing their talent and the richness of their craft in every performance. Here at the Lied Center, we are creating a community where all people thrive—both on the stage and off.
We provide opportunities for students of all ages to see live theater. We traverse the state, bringing internationally renowned performers to places where artistic pursuits don’t always feature prominently in the community landscape. We offer a stage that is a welcoming of all, with performances as diverse as the communities we serve, reflecting the cultural heritage of the people who weave the richest tapestry imaginable.

Now is the time to make a transformative gift to support this Lied Center priority:
Since 2015, the Lied Across Kansas program has brought world-class performing artists to rural communities across the state. These artists have hosted workshops, performances and conversations in 80 separate engagements, interacting with more than 1,300 students and community members in 11 distinct communities—all free of charge.
A gift to the Lied Center in support of this initiative will allow the program to expand, eventually reaching all 104 counties in Kansas outside of Lawrence on an annual basis in perpetuity.
