The University of Kansas School of Professional Studies meets students where they are. Whether the first in their family to go to college, transferring from a community college or returning to college after years away to work or raise a family, our school is dedicated to fostering a learning experience that helps students advance their careers.
We pride ourselves on doing things a little differently. We are small enough and nimble enough to develop courses to meet today’s workplace needs. We have faculty who work during the day and share a passion for that work by teaching at night. We have students of all ages and varying levels of work experience, coming together to learn the very latest developments in their fields.
With undergraduate and graduate programs ranging from American Sign Language & Deaf Studies to Biotechnology to Cyber Security and Criminal Justice, the School of Professional Studies is making a difference in the lives of many—one student and family at a time.

Students in the School of Professional Studies often have significant financial pressures due to the sharp increase in tuition costs from their previous community college, the cost of childcare, or existing student loan debt from incomplete degree programs at other colleges. Scholarships tell students “you belong,” providing the financial flexibility needed to complete their degree and realize their educational dreams. By supporting scholarships, donors are the bridge for students into their futures.
The School of Professional Studies works closely with companies and regional partners to launch educational programs which link directly to high demand jobs. Students can enter our degree programs confidently knowing their financial investment in a college education will lead to careers that can support their families.
Donors can accelerate our efforts to launch cutting-edge programs and increase the capacity of our programs.
