KU Medical Center prepares future generations of caregivers to treat you and your family. Our research creates effective therapies and seeks cures that once seemed impossible. We dedicate ourselves to your health and well-being.
Health care headlines in recent years have raised alarms. They predict shortages of doctors and nurses, particularly in rural areas, as well as challenges to aging populations. Fast-rising rates of cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and diabetes threaten every family.
KU Medical Center provides solutions for Kansas and the nation – for you and your family.
We train exceptional caregivers. With campuses in Kansas City, Salina and Wichita, KU School of Medicine ranked 5th among all public medical schools in the country for graduates practicing in rural areas, and 9th for graduates practicing in primary care. Our undergraduate nursing program rose to 17th in the nation and partners with 8 community colleges across Kansas to train accomplished and compassionate caregivers who make all the difference for patients and their families.
We pursue revolutionary research that will save and change lives. The University of Kansas Cancer Center is among the top 1% in the world, and a national leader in cellular therapeutics. These therapies could one day replace chemotherapy, are more easily tolerated by patients, and go beyond treatment to cure. Our Proton Therapy Center offers the most advanced, targeted form of radiation – precision technology that spares healthy tissue and blasts tumor cells. Our Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center helped develop one of the first treatments to slow progression of the disease and is actively working to prevent it.
Your investment in KU Medical Center will save lives and support healthy, vibrant communities.
Join us in ensuring that more Kansans survive and thrive, now and for many years to come.
Cancer touches — threatens — every family. Now is the time to bring boundary-pushing science and real-time treatment together in one remarkable building to save thousands of lives. Hundreds of clinical trials, treatments with enhanced quality of life, and precision therapies are being developed and delivered here in Kansas City. Patients are an incredible 25% more likely to survive when treated at an NCI-comprehensive cancer center like ours. With your investment, someone you love will live because of The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
Six million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. The newest treatments to slow the disease are tested and developed here. Now is the time to create a Brain Health Center for families affected by neurological diseases such as dementia and stroke, Parkinson’s, neuromuscular disease, migraines and traumatic brain injuries. Working with doctors across Kansas, we will provide earlier diagnosis and intervention, enhance caregiver support, reduce costs, and improve care. We will triple the number of clinical trials and patients seen. We will prevent Alzheimer’s and lead the way to a cure.
Creating healthier futures and solving chronic issues takes community collaborations with available expertise from the University of Kansas Medical Center. Whether you are in an urban center or a rural town, interdisciplinary teams are partnering in hundreds of Kansas communities to improve access for people who are medically underserved. To improve the health of all people requires addressing underlying problems that may require data and tailored solutions. Innovation must quickly be translated into straightforward solutions at the local level. And long-term improvement requires partnerships and leadership for greater momentum and impact.
